Reflection Pool

Wild Eye Safaris are pleased to be working in conjunction with Andy Howeys Bird of Centre in Northumberland to offer use of their fantastic bird hide and reflection pool.

From this purpose built hide you can work on 2 sides making use of two excellent back drops to give you fantastic shots of a wide variety of British birds.

The front of the hide allows you to shoot out over the reflection pool. The pool allows you to capture amazing shots of garden birds coming in to feed or drink. Thanks to its construction you can get great shots with the birds and an almost perfect reflection set against a sympathetic backdrop.

The side of the hide overlooks a natural area with a variety of excellent perches that the birds visit regularly to feed. It gives the opportunity to get fabulous interactive shots as different species come and go from the feeding stations.

The hide attracts Blue Tit, Great Tit, Sisskins, Gold Finch, Green Finch, Blackbird, Robin, Chaffinch, Sparrow (both hedge & house) and Jackdaws.

What to Bring:

The vast majority of your time will be spent in the hide; in terms of clothing you will need some warm clothes because it can be cold and you will be sitting still.

You will need to bring your own food and drinks as these are not included within the price for your day.

Camera Equipment:

In terms of camera kit you'll need a bean bag, the longest lens you have (300mm or 500mm + convertor would be our recommendation/choice but a 400mm does give you excellent shots as well) plenty of flash cards and batteries. There is no electricity in the hide so please make sure that you have spare batteries that are fully charged because on a good day you can take lots of great images.

This is an excellent hide which will give you an amazing chance to photograph the different types of birds found in the UK against a variety of back drops.
